Words of Welcome

Good evening and welcome to this celebration of love! Jane and Joe have asked all of you to be with them today because each of you has given something of yourself into their lives.  Your friendship and love will always be appreciated. They welcome you here and thank you for sharing this most important day with them.

Marriage Address

A true marriage is the ultimate relationship because it offers the opportunity of limitless intimacy between two people.  It is a great and challenging adventure into the depths and heights of human caring, affection, trust, and understanding.

In marriage, two become one, but that one is far more complex and dynamic

than the simple addition of one plus one. In marriage, we do not give ourselves to another, but rather surrender into something greater while maintaining our own individuality.

Jane and Joe, you have come here today to surrender into the co-creation of something wholly new and transcendent…your precious and unique marriage journey as husband and wife.  Today, you step into a much fuller experience and expression  of the mysteries and miracles of love. Your union is lovely in its innocence, mighty in its strength, and abundant with possibilities.  It belongs to you both.  We wish for you the wisdom, strength, patience, and the determination to make this a happy marriage, a safe harbor, and a joyful journey to the center of your lives.

Declaration of Intent

Joe and Jane, do you gladly rejoice in the possibilities that exist within your marriage journey?  If so, please say…we do.  Then with joyful hearts…please join your hands…and with your hands…your hearts

Exchanging of Rings

The rings…

Within the safety and comfort of a true marriage, love freely given has no beginning and no end.  Love freely given has no separate giver and receiver.

Each of you gives your love to the other and each of you receives love from the other and the circle goes around and around. The rings you have chosen to wear are now joined such that wherever you go, may you always return to one another.

Rings Vows

Joe, please place this ring partially on Jane‘s finger and repeat after me.

I give you this ring

as a symbol of my vow.

May it encircle your finger always,

as my love will your heart.
