Words of Welcome
Welcome! It is truly a blessing from heaven for two people to find one another and to love so deeply that they embrace the holy bond of marriage. We are here today to witness and celebrate Jane and Joe’s commitment to their union.
Opening Prayer
Let us begin with a time of prayer…
Heavenly Father, we thank You for this miraculous day, for the fulfillment of love see before us, and for the joy of sharing this happy occasion. As we
gather in the love that joins us together as one, let us surround Jane and Joe with our love, our prayers, and our best wishes for them, on this, their wedding day, and throughout their journey
together as husband and wife. Amen
Marriage Address
Marriage is a gift from God...it is a miracle. It is an opportunity to feel the joy of taking care of someone who takes
care of you, to be challenged towards growth yet gently nurtured, to love deeply and to receive it in return. It is about trust, friendship and having a partner to share all life has to
offer. It is a commitment to participate in the process of mutual growth, understanding and forgiveness. It is indeed a sacred union which is to be treated with
reverence.
Marriage is not a place to hide from the world. It is a safe place to grow and become wiser, so that you may go out into the world and make a difference by spreading the joy and wisdom that you have found with each other.
Jane, Joe is a gift to you from God, but he is not a gift to you alone. It is God's
will that in your love, this man might find within himself a greater sense of who he is meant to be. You are asked to see the good in this man, to cherish him for who he is today and who he shall be
tomorrow. In this way, God's purpose shall be accomplished within this relationship. May he find the kingdom of heaven through the love you share.
And so it is with you also Joe. that although Jane is a gift to you, she is not a gift intended for you alone. You are asked by God to so love this woman, that in your love she might find herself as
she was created, so beautiful and strong and brave and true, that the entire world might be blessed by the presence of a woman who shines so brightly. May she relax in your arms as she has
never relaxed before. May she know, from now on, that there is one on whose love she can depend forever. May you both create, with God, a piece of heaven right here on
earth.
Declaration of Intent
Joe and Jane, do you share in the understanding that your marriage shall be sacred. and your promises to each other unending? If so, please say…we do. Then with these understandings, please face each other and join hands…and with your hands…your hearts.
Wedding Vows
Jane, do you take Joe to be your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold,
to love and to cherish, through times of sorrow as well as joy? Do you promise this with all your heart, mind, body and soul, and before God commit to honor this vow all the days of your life? If so, please say… I do.

Exchanging of Rings
You have chosen to give each other rings as an expression of your marriage vows today. They will be the outward
visible sign of your commitment to each other. Your rings will announce to the world that you are pledged and devoted to a deep and abiding love with another.
The rings….
As God is a circle whose center is everywhere and whose circumference is nowhere, so let the seamless circle of these rings become the symbol of your endless love. We ask God to bless these rings as your union is blessed! May you wear them in peace and happiness all of your days. Amen

from this day forward as my wife.
