The sun has come halfway from its
lowest path in the sky to its
highest. Let us think of our sisters
and brothers in other countries,
and hemispheres. No matter what
our differences of culture, race,
government, and religion; no
matter what our differences in
clothing, diet, or lifestyle...on this
day natures reminds us that we
are the same.
We depend on the same sun for
warmth and light. We rely on the
same earth for food, the same sky
for rainwater. We breathe the
same air. Our differences are
superficial compared to this most
basic, most vital commonality.
On the day of the Spring equinox,
no matter where we live on this
earth, we all experience exactly
twelve hours of daylight and twelve
hours of darkness. May this
sharing unite us.
